4 Songs We Are Singing in October

Sometimes it stinks that the busiest month is the one with the best songs! I LOVE October/Halloween songs. Especially with kids.Halloween is so silly and exciting and the songs match. This little list includes some of our favorite Halloween songs and a lap bounce. Hope you have as much fun singing these songs as we have so far. (we are obsessed and it has only been 2 days)

Spider Song

I have shared this song in the past with a fun diy puppet. Check it out here. This is the perfect Halloween song. I love this song because it is versatile for all ages, the younger and the older.

tune –” If You’re Happy and You Know It”

There’s a spider on my head on my head “ooo eee”
There’s a spider on my head on my head “ooo eee”
There’s a spider on my head “aack”
There’s a spider on my head “aack”
There’s a spider on my head on my head.

Cheek Chin

This is a fun lap bounce.  You can do this with the youngest of babies, but I will tell you that my three, almost four year old loves it too! There is no tune to this song. It is just a chant. Look for it on my Instagram in a few days. I will be sure to share it in one of my stories!

Cheek chin cheek chin cheek chin nose (point to different body parts)
Cheek chin cheek chin cheek chin toes.
Cheek chin cheek chin
UP baby goes. (lift baby up, or toddler… or older, as in my case)

For more lap bounces check out my article with a list and video here!

Skeleton Dance

This song/ Youtube video by Super Simple Learning is a winner! We literally talk about “the skeleton dance” all year at my house! Definitely turn this on and help your kids get moving. It is silly, but also helps them isolate body parts.

Flutter Flutter Little Bat

I found this song on Pinterest and use it with little bat visuals. (look forward to those later in the month!) The song is very simple, but includes another type of Halloween creature! You can follow my Pinterest account to keep up with different songs and activities I find! Just search ‘The Singing Home’.

tune: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Flutter flutter little bat,
How I wonder where your at.
Swooping through the darkest night,
You find your way without a light,
Flutter flutter little bat,
How I wonder where your at.

Look out for more Halloween/Fall songs coming your way! Next week they will be about pumpkins!!!
